The preseason finale awaits at the Chilliwack Coliseum

One final chance for the Express to dial in for the upcoming campaign. Still plenty of decisions left to be made and tonight is the last opportunity the players will have to state their case for making the regular season roster.

This will be a great test for the Coquitlam hopefuls as usually in the preseason there’s one thing that lacks. Rivalry.

Obviously there is lots of emotion behind these games already because players are fighting for roster spots. But now that will simply be fuel to the fire that is the Chiefs – Express rivalry.

There is a history between these teams that is undeniable. When you play someone eight times a season there are bound to be grudges held and a hunger across the fanbases to see you prevail over the other. Chilliwack and Coquitlam have met in the first round of the playoffs two of the last three seasons and the regular season matchups in between have been stellar. Full of grit and tenacity, bad blood and huge emotions, if tonight proves true to form then the players will have a chance to showcase their discipline and how they handle themselves in heated situations.

The Express have the advantage of two extra games under their belt this exhibition campaign. Due to scheduling the Chiefs only have three games total in the preseason and this will be their second. Chilliwack will need to get on the same page early as it’ll be an uphill battle against a Coquitlam side that appears to have hit their stride as main camp draws close to its conclusion.

For the Express the keys for tonight are simple: Keep the offence rolling, sew up the puck control problems from last night, and don’t get baited into heated exchanges.

Come on down to the Coliseum and catch the game live or tune in to the away feed on the FloHockey broadcast just before 6PM PST!
