Position Title: Trainer / Athletic Therapist
Position Overview
The Coquitlam Express, Coquitlam HC and Tri-City Express are seeking a dedicated and experienced Trainer/Athletic Therapist to join our hockey operations team. This key role is responsible for managing all aspects of player health and wellness, including injury prevention, treatment, and recovery, while also supporting daily team operations both on and off the ice.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and manage player injuries and illnesses, including treatment, rehabilitation, follow-ups, and referrals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date injury documentation and communicate regularly with the coaching staff and management.
- Collaborate with the team physician, dentist, and other medical and rehabilitation professionals.
- Prepare all necessary gear and medical supplies for practices and games.
- Manage medical and equipment supply inventories, track budgets, and maintain records.
- Assist visiting teams and trainers upon arrival to our facility.
- Organize and pack all medical and equipment supplies for road trips.
- Ensure compliance with all BCHL, JPHL & FSL regulations.
- Availability for travel, including cross-border trips.
Requirements
- Valid passport and Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent).
- Sports First Responder certification (required).
- Relevant experience in a hockey or high-performance sports environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in Athletic Therapy and/or Concussion Management (preferred).
