Coquitlam Express Sign 2007-Born Defenseman Liam Loughery

The Coquitlam Express are thrilled to announce the signing of 2007-born defenseman Liam Loughery. Standing tall at 6-foot-3, Loughery brings an imposing physical presence to the blue line and is expected to bolster the team’s defensive core.

Loughery, a local talent, played for the Burnaby Winter Club (BWC) U18 team last season. During his time with BWC, he showcased his impressive defensive skills and on-ice awareness, contributing to his team’s success and earning recognition as a promising young player. His performance at the U18 level was marked by his strong positioning, effective use of his size, and ability to read the game, making him a standout defenseman.

Express General Manager, Tali Campbell, expressed excitement about the addition of Loughery to the roster: “Liam is a fantastic young defenseman who brings both size and skill to our lineup. His development at BWC has been exceptional, and we believe he has a bright future ahead of him. We’re looking forward to seeing him grow and contribute to our team’s success.”

Loughery’s signing is part of the Express’ ongoing strategy to build a competitive and dynamic team by integrating local talent and nurturing young players. As Loughery transitions to the BCHL, fans can expect to see his impact on the ice as he continues to develop his game and adapt to the higher level of competition.
